Early Bird Packet Pick Up
At Running Away Multisport
10am to 5pm Saturday, July 26
Steelhead Triathlon registrants may pick
up their race packets, technical shirt and Bike Racking-Slip at Running
Away Multisport. Running Away, Official Shoe and Apparel
Retailer of the Whirlpool Steelhead 70.3 Triathlon, is located
at 1634 West North Avenue in Chicago.
Only those registrants
who pick up their packets at Running Away will be allowed to rack
their bikes on race morning. If you are planning to rack your bike
on race morning, be sure to bring along your Bike Racking Slip. For

Multisort Expo
Jean Klock Park, Benton Harbor
2pm to 9pm Friday, August 1
The
Whirlpool Steelhead 70.3 Triathlon Expo and Race Registration include
race course-talks, race packet pick-up and body marking. The expo
will take place at the race site at Jean Klock Park, Benton Harbor’s
lake front park.
If you did not pick up your packet in Chicago at Running Away Multisport,
you are required to pick up your race packet in person on Friday at
the Expo, and you are required to rack your bike in the transition
area on Friday from 2pm until 9pm.
Only those who picked up their materials at Running Away Multisport will be able to rack their bike on race morning. NO
EXCEPTIONS, NO EXCUSES, NO KIDDING! THERE IS NO RACE DAY PACKET PICK-UP!!! Please
allow one hour to pick up your race materials, technical shirt and
goody bag, and get body marked. |

1. Determine
Your Race Number
Your race number will be posted at the entrance to the Expo.
2.
USAT Single Event Permit
To participate in the Whirlpool Steelhead 70.3 Triathlon, you are required
to be 18 years or older and a member of USAT, or have purchased a
USAT Single Event permit for $10 and have signed the USAT waiver
form when you registered online.
3.
Pick Up Your Race #'s & ChampionChip
Check the number signs above the registration tables. You are required
to produce your photo ID and USAT membership card if you are a member
or a receipt for a USAT single event permit. Relay Team Captains should
collect the team race packet, wristbands and technical shirts and
submit signed USAT waivers for each team member. If you arrive at transition
without your wristband, race # and ChampionChip, you will not be allowed
to race. You will also need to be wearing your wristband to collect
food and drink at the Post Race Party and to retrieve your bike from
transition.
4.
Collect Your Shirt & Race Bag
Show your race number to the volunteers to collect your technical shirt
and race bag.

5.
Collect Your Swim Cap
Make sure you get the correct color swim cap.
6.
Proceed to Body Marking
We recommend that you get body marked at the Expo on Friday. Please
dress appropriately (shorts & T-shirt). Body marking is also available
on Saturday near the entrance to transition, but there will be long
lines.
7. Attend a Course Talk
Course Talks are optional for participants of the Whirlpool
Steelhead 70.3 Triathlon, but highly recommended if you are new to
triathlon or have never raced the Whirlpool Steelhead 70.3 Triathlon.
Course Talks will take place on the hour starting at 2:30pm with the last
talk at 7:30pm.
8.
Rack Your Bike
ALL bikes must be racked on Friday between 2pm and 9pm (unless
you picked up your packet at Running Away). Take your bike to the transition area and rack it on the numbered bike
rack. Your spot on a rack will be marked with your name and race number.
Be sure to rack your bike by the seat and NOT by the handle bars. |
